Three ways to work, one engine
Every tool comes as a VS Code extension, a desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux, and a benchdog command for scripts and pipelines. All three run the same engine, so a comparison, a fill or a search gives the same answer wherever you run it.
Signs in as you
Azure calls run as you, through the browser once or your existing az login. SQL Server uses your Entra account, your Windows account, or a SQL login. Benchdog never stores a password, except a SQL login's, and only in your system's secure store when you tick Remember.
Safe by default
Anything that changes a database or a vault asks first, says what it will change, and runs in one transaction where it can, with a backup offered first. Reads only read: SQL Search and SQL Documenter never touch table data, and Key Vault values show only when you ask.
Project files you can share
Save a comparison, a fill, a scramble, a search or a list of databases as a small JSON file, keep it in your repo, and run it again from VS Code, the desktop app or a pipeline. Project files get autocomplete and error checking in VS Code, and never hold a password.
Help when something goes wrong
Turn on the diagnostics log in Settings for a debug log of what Benchdog did, with passwords, connection strings, tokens and your data taken out. If an app hits an error it did not expect, a window shows the details to copy, with one click to email support.
